The National Flag, which is a symbol of our nation’s pride, is respectfully hoisted on national festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day every year. Our members assemble in the flag hoisting venue on time, participate in the proceedings and pay respect to our National Flag.

Annual General Body Meeting
A free ayurvedic health camp was organized by Dr.Saipoornima and her team on November 22, 2015, in Rangas Kuzhali Apartments, Vivek Nagar. The event was sponsored by Vivek Nagar Association. It was a grand success. About 150 persons from across Ambattur visited the camp and had a free consultation with the team of Ayurvedic doctors for various ailments. An Ayurvedic medical store also was also organised by the team selling ayurvedic medicines at very cheap rates for the benefit of the people.
The following tournaments are conducted every year in Vivek Nagar and prizes are distributed to the members who come in the first three places. Thes prizes are awarded to the winners during the Republic Day Celebrations every year.

An awareness meeting was conducted by Police Officials in Vivek Nagar in GV Opulence on 20/11/2016. Our members interacted with the police officials and made many requests. The Police Officials who attended the above meeting gave an assurance that all our representations will be carried out by them in due course.
கோலங்கள் போட்டி was conducted for the first time in Vivek Nagar on 21/01/2018. Totally 12 teams participated. Prizes were given to first 4 teams. Judge was Mrs. Chithra Ravi from Thiruvengadanagar.
On the Birth Anniversary day of our revered leader Dr A.P.J.ABDULKALAM, ON 15-10-2017, a public function was organised jointly by URUNI MAIYAM, Ambattur and Vivek Nagar People Welfare Society and tree plantation work was undertaken for the first time in Vivek Nagar. Mr V.Alexander, M.L.A. and Mr K.N.Ramachandran M.P. were the chief guests for the function.
The various civic problems faced by the members were taken by the association to the notice of Government Agencies like Metro Waters, Corporation of Chennai and TNEB and the problems were sorted out then and there, thanks to the sustained efforts taken by our office-bearers. The officials visited Vivek Nagar and fixed many problems faced by the residents. LED lights were inaugurated and Underground drainage networks were commissioned in Vivek Nagar in the past one year. Metro waters connection were given to many households and supply of drinking water was ensured to the public.
